For DC clients, IAD runs 45–60 minutes via the Dulles Toll Road and I-66, which makes it genuinely competitive with DCA for travelers on the western side of the city — Georgetown, Foggy Bottom, K Street corridor. The Silver Line Metro now reaches Dulles from Ashburn, but for anything other than light travel, the car remains faster end-to-end.
